It’s interesting that we’re able to sum up their compatibility in one word because both of these signs are incredibly complex when it comes to love relationships, both wanting similar but different things. There are many challenges and many amazing aspects of the Leo and Scorpio relationship to consider, and it’s up to you how far out to sea you want to swim, it can get deep out there in this relationship.
When Scorpio and Leo first meet there is an insane initial attraction to each other. Debatably the two most powerful signs of the zodiac, when you put these two together sparks will inevitably fly. Both signs shine in different ways that can be either mutually supportive or can end in egoic competition.
Scorpio is notorious for being manipulative and controlling but Leo gives them a run for their money. Leo will not automatically bow down to Scorpio. Scorpio must first show Leo respect in order to even enter their kingdom. Scorpio will push the boundaries and a leo within their power will push right back, making a fair fight and a fun, flirtatious battle of the egos as they eye each other up.
Ego
Both of these signs are FIXED signs meaning they are generally stuck within their own way of thinking, incredibly hard to push around and are generally not afraid of standing up for the things they strongly believe in. Leo & Scorpio, being fixed energy, will have to find ways to work with each other and not be so headstrong about the way they think something should be done. Neither sign will want to submit to the other so there needs to be a lot of respect and communication within this relationship and an emphasis on setting egos to the side.
Let’s talk about egos because that is going to be a main theme of this relationship especially if the parties are unevolved and have some growing to do. Having an ego inherently is not a bad thing, it helps us understand who we are and what we need. It becomes a problem when we live from an ego space vs a heart space which can be very challenging for low-vibe Scorpios and Leos to do. Scorpios emotional needs can sometimes frustrate Leo because Scorpios want Leo to anticipate their needs without actually verbalizing it. It can be very hard for Scorpios to open up and if they do, they really trust you. Scorpio has trouble expressing their innermost needs because often they have been denied the ability throughout their life to fully express themselves without feeling misunderstood. Leo has a tendency to OVER-express themselves and their own needs, making the Scorpio feel like they are just catering to the Leo all the time while neglecting their own true emotional state. Leo sometimes feels that Scorpio can be overbearing with their demanding nature, as Leo is used to ruling the Kingdom.

Emotional Needs
Within a relationship the Leo will be looking for someone to fulfill their romantic needs with and enjoy the company of the other person while also enjoying a ridiculous amount of sex. Leo does feel deeply and love with their entire heart, engaging in passionate, dramatic and grand displays of their love. Scorpio is one of the few placements that can keep up with Leo sexually, and their compatibility in the bedroom is that of Gods. Scorpio is constantly on the search for a soul mate and has a hard time settling down with someone who is anything less than that. Scorpio has deep emotions and may sometimes feel that the Leo is more focused on the positive and exciting parts of love and relationships vs facing the depths that Scorpios naturally swim in.
Scorpio is a water sign and it is impossible for them to escape their own depths and the transformational nature of their lives, sometimes the fire that Leos offer them allows them to have a light shown on their darkness and a way out of the emotional abyss. Other times, the fire and water try to mix and the Scorpio ends up putting out Leos fire. Both Leo and Scorpio are HIGHLY possessive of what they perceive to be “theirs.” Jealousy is one of the lower vibration emotions that can come up within the Leo and Scorpio relationship. Leo gets attention. They just do. Scorpio loves this about Leo on some level, and it’s not that Scorpio doesn’t receive attention, they just go about it in vastly different ways than their Leo partner. Leo is in your face about needing attention while Scorpio tends to rely on their subconscious magnetism.
Leos need for attention can lead to Scorpio not fully respecting the way they maneuver through life, feeling like the Leo gives too much of themselves publicly. Leo sees the exact opposite in Scorpio, knowing they have big gifts but are too afraid to show them to the world. If the signs can set egos aside and learn from each other, there is much to be gained.
Leo and Scorpio alike display obsessive behavior surrounding attachments with romantic relationships when they are at a low vibration. Sometimes this can come out as codependency and that’s when both parties need to take a step back and establish their own identities yet again. Give each other the space to become who you are alone in order to heal with each other and try not to take it personally, this is where the mutual respect comes in.
